Between 12 and 23 months your child is learning to walk or "toddle". During this time he or she learns a great deal about social roles and develops motor skills. It is also a trying time as the child is discovering that they are a separate being from their mother. They test boundaries in learning the way the world around them works. Their initial steps of independence are shown as follows:
- Helping and liking to dress themselves
- Walk up steps
- Learning to run
- Climb into a small chair
- Feeding themselves with a spoon
Our goal is to nurture these qualities with positive reinforcement, conversation, safe equipment, and other stimulating activities in a learning environment.
